On the economist there is a story about how MIT is developing a new advancement in Fuel Cells that will increase power output by 50% and that is enough to power a laptop. Even the DOT is considering revamping their Airline rules to allow up to 200ml of methanol to be carried on board as a carry-on to allow continuous power for those 12 hour flights.

These I have called ChUMPC and there are an increasing number of them.Also this is something I have been saying since 1997 when I saw microsoft encroaching in on the Application Vendor space. Up to this point they had been strictly pretty much an OS vendor.
